Founded in 1993 to perform exploration and assessment for groundwater, Wellfield Services was pioneer in offering services related to hydrological resources for the northern Chile mining industry.

Between 1995 and 1997 the company went through a process of expansion as well as professionalization, which paved the road for the continuous innovation politics that characterizes Wellfield.  Since those years has maintained its leadership in Chilean geophysical services market.

On parallel with state-of-the-art technology acquisition and new proceedings introduction for Oil & Gas, Mining, Geothermal, Groundwater, Environment and Geotechnical applications, Wellfield’s workforce has achieved specializations and experience to permit both services diversification and geographical expansion.

Among the main company’s milestones are the introduction of: electrical tomography (ERT) (1994) and Magnetotelluric (MT) applied to Geothermal Exploration (2001), development of a distributed system (hardware and software) to acquire Deep Induced Polarization with telluric correction (Deep IP) (2006), high P-T logging for geothermal wells (2007) and the creation of a Division dedicates uniquely to 3D-2D high resolution Reflection Seismic for Oil & Gas (2010), which at the moment operates 25 vibrator trucks, 2 Image IO and 2 Aram Aries II recorders with up to 13000 channels for seismic recording, in southern Chile, Argentina and Brazil), 3D ERT (Electrical Tomography) and geophysical system for detection of not crushable mining material in 2014. 

In 2015 with the acquisition of the Brazilian company Geomag, (ex CGG), its assets and important personnel, the Wellfield Group starts offering surface geophysics services in Brazil on a permanent basis.

Now, the company multinational, high specialized and diverse workforce dispones of a complete set of equipment and systems, several data processing centers and the technological support by the most important worldwide providers.

To ensure that all processes and related products fit to the highest quality, environmental and safety standards, Wellfield Services has certified an OHSAS 18.001 Integrated Management System, based on ISO 9.001 Quality Management and ISO 14.001Environmental Management systems. In 2001, Wellfield was the first Chilean geosciences company to achieve a system to ensure quality, recently re-certified with ISO 9001-2015.
